Good Morning Room 22

Happy Tuesday Morning. Today I encourage you to look at the Flyleaf Publishing website from the Reading page on the Distance Learning slideshow. It is an awesome website with lots of stories for you to read at different levels that have homework pages you can print out (or write out) to help you understand the story better.

Keep shining your GEMS at home and working hard at your distance learning.

Koru Whanau Poetry Festival Practise

Hi Families

Today each student had a turn to stand up in front of the class and present their poem that they are practising for the Koru Whanau Poetry Festival.

It was wonderful to see that the students had been working hard to practise their poems at home. Some students have added hand movement and actions to match the words in their poems, some students have added expression to selected words in their poems and some students have already memorised their poems!

They have all done a wonderful job so far and I'm sure that by the time I hear their poems again it will be hard to pick just three candidates to ready their poem at the festival.

Week 12 Play Performance

Hi Room 22 Whanau

This week we have been developing our confidence, fluency and body language through learning to read and perform plays. We have enjoyed learning with our friends and thinking of ways to portray our characters.

Check out this slideshow with video recordings of each group performing their plays! (The last one is in two parts due to Miss Stuhlmanns technical difficulties haha)

We hope you love them!

Have a wonderful holiday.

Distance Learning 6th May 2020

Good Morning Room 22 Students and Families

Today we are going to look at the Reading slide from our distance learning slideshow and visit the scholastic learn at home website. You will need to first click on 'grades 1-2', then go to 'week 4' and scroll down to 'day 17'. Day 17 is all about squirrels!

I am sure you will have lots of fun learning about squirrels. I wonder if you can even make a poster with all of the information that you learnt? I'm sure you can.

I look forward to seeing you during our Google Meets today. The first session is 10:00-10:30am and the second session is at 10:30-11:00am. You can join these even if you are not sharing news.

Have an extra exciting day.
