School Holidays Are Starting

Hi Students and Families

We are moving into our school holidays early, yipee! I am sure that you are excited to have a break from learning to spend some special time with your family, get creative with home crafts and maybe even do a little cooking or baking.

Term 2 will start on Wednesday the 15th of April and we will begin our distance/at home learning then.

Please send me pictures and short videos if you would like me to post them to the class blog to share with our Room 22 family.

Let's Keep In Touch!

Hi Amazing Room 22

Over the next few weeks I will be posting short videos to keep in touch with you. I may send you little challenges to complete or share what I am getting up to.

I would love to hear from all of you too! Please send me through pictures or short videos so that I can share to the blog so that we can all see what each other is doing.

Reading with our Buddies

On Friday we met up with our buddy class to read some plays. We got into groups with our buddies, grabbed some junior journals, picked our roles and started to read our plays.



It was lots of fun spending time with our buddies and have them help us with our reading when we needed it.

Next week we will start to act out our plays and maybe even make some props for when we perform them to each other.

Swimming with Life Jackets

On Monday we had Lynley from Auckland Drowning Prevention show us how to stay safe in the water using life jackets.

It was so much fun practising rolling from our backs to our tummies, floating on our backs, doggy paddling back to the 'boat' and trying to stay in the 'keep warm' position.

We definitely learnt a lot about being safe in the water!

Swimming Carnival

What a day!

We had so much fun putting our swimming skills on show for our families. We did some freestyle, flutter board kicking, walking with balls and an egg and spoon race.

The best part was when our friends and family cheered for us!

Buddies and Bikes

Yesterday we were so lucky to be able to go on the bike track with our buddies. They encouraged us to keep going and helped us when we needed it.

I Like To Move It Move It

Today we presented our circus dance at assembly. We had so much fun getting up on stage and shaking our pom poms!

Earth and Beyond

Today we got thinking about our inquiry topic 'Earth and Beyond'. We talked about what was beyond/far away from Earth and landed on Space.

We shared some of the things we already know about Space.


Then we watch a video that had LOTS of information about the Sun and Space.

After the video, we came up with questions that we would like to find the answers to.


We are such a curious class!

Setting Goals

Last week, we talked about what goals are and what goals we can have to work on for Term 1. Some of the goals we talked about were:

 - Learning our times tables
 - Swimming and taking a breath to the side
 - Getting better at gynmastics
 - Spell our words better
 - Retell the story from our reading books
 - Answer the questions from a story
 - Get better at reading chapter books.

We have started some art to show our goals on the wall and help us to remember them.
